TSF to Celebrate National Hunting and Fishing Day
Dallas, TX – June 25, 2010- In honor of the 39th National Hunting and Fishing Day, The
Sportsmen's Foundation will move the celebration to BIG D to further the events goal to reach
out to those who do not know about the benefits of ethical wildlife management, from the thrill
of being in the wild to the proceeds of the harvest. Additionally, the foundation will also be
introducing its next monumental project entitled Intro to the Great Outdoors at this year’s event
on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at the Richardson Civic Center.
The Sportsmen's Foundation will join with thousands of hunters and anglers across America
as they celebrate National Hunting & Fishing Day with a savory wild game dinner and
exhilarating entertainment for what surely will be a WILD party. This event again will provide
an opportunity to not only come together and have fun and meet new friends, but to offer yet
another opportunity to share about the benefits of time spent outdoors.
It's a little known fact that hunters and fishermen provide billions of dollars each year for
wildlife conservation. To recognize their contributions, Congress established National Hunting &
Fishing Day 39 years ago to point out what is and what can be done to insure a healthy future for
our natural resources. What began as a mere promotion all those years ago has today developed
into a full-blown national celebration.
Like the rich sporting heritage it represents, National Hunting & Fishing Day has become
a firmly rooted tradition that annually serves to introduce thousands of Americans to the
outdoors. And with help from The Sportsmen's Foundation and other likeminded companies and
individuals, these newcomers will be introduced to the code-of-ethics, which will help to ensure
that the great outdoors and the opportunities there in will be around for many generations to
come.
The Sportsmen’s Foundation believes the outdoors industry and its enthusiast’s duty to educate
the public about the benefits of ethical wildlife and habitat management.
